Gresini Racing
Envisioned by the champion Fausto Gresini who, after 13 years of winning on two wheels, decided to seek a new thrill as manager, and form Gresini Racing. The team has participated in the World Championship since 1997, when it made its debut in the 500 class with Alex Barros. Since then, Gresini never stopped collecting world titles and important victories thanks to the amazing drivers who have joined the team: Daijiro Kato, Toni Elias, Sete Gibernau and Marco Melandri, as well as Loris Capirossi and the unforgettable Marco Simoncelli, a top driver in 2011’s tragic season.
In 2015, after 18 years of working with Honda, Gresini Racing signed an agreement with Aprilia Racing. Together they formed Aprilia Racing Team Gresini, which has taken on the role of the official Aprilia Team in MotoGP.
Also, in 2015, they opened their new headquarters in Faenza. It includes administrative offices as well as the new racing department, which contains spaces dedicated to engine assembly and bodywork alongside a workshop area.
