Geological Museum of Gypsum Vein
The Baronial Palace (Palazzo Baronale) is in the center of Tossignano, an ancient residential complex perched on a gypsum cliff 3 km from Borgo Tossignano.
The sixteenth century building, originally a feudal residence of the Altemps, a noble family, was hit during the Second World War during the skirmishes between German and Allied forces battling across the Gothic Line.
Today, the Baronial Palace the Geological Museum of Gypsum Vein (Vena del gesso): a wisely organised exposition will lead the visitor to the discovery of the geological wonders of the Regional Park of Romagna Gypsum Vein.
Fun Fact
Inside Baronial Palace, there is also a small botanical garden on a panoramic terrace, overlooking the Santerno Valley and Gypsum Vein.
