War and Gothic Line Museum
War and Gothic Line Museum (Museo della Guerra e della Linea Gotica) of Castel del Rio is located on the second floor of the impressive Palazzo Alidosi (also home to the Municipality office and the Museo del Castagno).
From a revolving collection to War and Gothic Line Museum
Opened in 1978, by an initiative of the citizens of Castel del Rio to collect the artifacts found in the Santerno Valley, the museum now boasts a collection of about 2 thousand pieces: weapons, uniforms, badges, documents and photographs, as well as a rare Texas T6 plane, a Brixia mortar and an American 75 cannon.
It is divided into three sections:
- World War I
- World War II (with the passage of the Gothic Line in the Santerno Valley)
- the partisan activity and the deportation of Castel del Rio inhabitants to concentration camps.

The bookshop and a library with about 150 books can be a nice end to the visit. Every year, on the third Sunday of May, the museum sponsors the “Militaria” vintage exhibition of military vehicles.
